Creating Appointments

inkStar provides multiple ways to create appointments depending on your workflow.

Tap and hold on an empty area of the calendar, then drag to set the time range. A ghost tile appears showing the selected slot. Release to open the create appointment page with the start and end time pre-filled.

Tap the + button on the calendar. The create page opens with the currently visible date range as context.

See Creating from Calendar for details.

When viewing a customer profile, you can create an appointment pre-populated with that customer. This saves time when scheduling a returning client.

From any appointment’s options menu (three dots), select Duplicate. This creates a new appointment pre-filled with:

  • Appointment kind
  • Employee
  • Name and description
  • Downpayment settings
  • Price and duration

The dates are intentionally left empty so you can pick a new time slot.

The appointment detail page shows a Follow-up quick action button, designed for creating the next session in a series of appointments for the same customer.

Regardless of how you start, the create appointment page collects:

  1. Appointment kind — Select from your configured kinds
  2. Employee — Assign an artist or staff member
  3. Timeframe — Start and end date/time with duration calculation
    • The timeframe widget checks for scheduling conflicts and warns if the employee already has an overlapping appointment
  4. Customers — Add one or more customers
  5. Name — Appointment title
  6. Description — Free-text notes
  7. Services — Select from your service catalog
  8. Price — Min/max price range and additional hourly rate
  9. Downpayment — Optional deposit amount and due date

Which fields appear depends on the appointment kind’s feature flags.

Toggle series mode to create a recurring appointment instead of a single booking.
