Template Attachments
Contract templates can have file attachments that are shared with the customer when they open the contract. Common examples include aftercare instruction sheets, studio policy documents, photo release forms, or supplementary terms of service as PDF files.
Adding attachments
Section titled “Adding attachments”From the template detail page, scroll down to the Attachments section and tap the + button to upload a file. Supported file types include PDFs, images, and other common document formats.
Must-download flag
Section titled “Must-download flag”When you add an attachment, you can mark it as “must download”. This means the customer is required to download the file before they can submit the contract.
This is useful when you want to make absolutely sure that the customer has received an important document. For example, if you prefer not to use the built-in Terms of Service feature (which shows the terms directly inside the contract), you can instead attach your terms as a PDF and mark it as must-download.
Tracking and legal compliance
Section titled “Tracking and legal compliance”Everything that happens with attachments is tracked and logged for legal compliance. When a customer downloads an attachment, inkStar automatically records:
- When they downloaded it (exact date and time)
- Which device they used (browser, operating system)
- Other details required by eSign law
This information is visible in the contract details and forms part of the complete audit trail. Just like the rest of the contract, all of this data is stored securely and can be used as legal evidence if needed.
Offline access
Section titled “Offline access”Attachment data is cached locally on your device. This means you can view attachments even when you don’t have an internet connection. The app automatically handles refreshing download links when they expire.
