Consent Management

inkStar tracks customer consent across five categories, each with three possible states. This is essential for GDPR compliance and communication preferences.

Each consent can be:

  • Agreed — Shown as a green checkmark with timestamp
  • Declined — Shown as a red X with timestamp
  • Pending — Shown as an empty circle (no response yet)

Consent is automatically populated when a customer fills out a contract form. The contract’s consent collection section includes checkboxes for:

  • Terms of service acceptance
  • Data processing consent
  • Email notification preferences
  • SMS notification preferences
  • Email marketing preferences
  • SMS marketing preferences
  • Preferred communication method

When the customer submits the contract, their consent choices are synced back to the customer profile.

The Consents section on the customer profile shows all five consent types with their current state and the date when consent was given or declined.

Consent changes are tracked in the customer’s activity feed:

  • Consent to email notifications / unconsent
  • Consent to SMS notifications / unconsent
  • Consent to legal document (with document name)
